| MODEL - LEARNING LABORATORY
ITDC and its affiliates will identify projects with the potential for developing sustainable competitive advantages for Southern Arizona. In a learning laboratory environment, the intern will "take the wheel" and drive the process with ITDC and the technical experts playing a supporting role. Interns currently include graduate students from the University of Arizona, Thunderbird, and local entrepreneurs. Activities include but are not limited to evaluation in the areas of finance, accounting, marketing, law, entrepreneurship, project management, technology transfer, cross-cultural communication and MIS on products/services, marketing, competition, distribution. In this "sink or swim environment, ITDC will monitor the intern’s progress closely to keep the intern on track and assure that the experience is both educational and fulfilling. As a result, interns have opportunities to develop and learn methods for business development from concrete working examples, and this process generates: • Hands-On Experience • Employment in the Start up Company • Equity Ownership • New Resident Talent The Learning Laboratory provides interns the opportunity to develop hands-on experience in researching and developing sustainable economic opportunities. ITDC expects these interns to leave the “laboratory” with a keen understanding of applying technology and business development concepts to sustainable systems and tools, as well as the confidence to drive such a process on their own in the future.. |
