Ron Richman, Chief Operating Officer
Ron has over thirty years of strategy and business development, marketing and technology transfer experience at IBM.  He has provided business transformation consulting services to both Fortune 100 and small businesses.

Through his diverse positions at IBM, he has worked with technology startups, with venture capitalists to establish startups as part of IBM’s partner programs, as well as for government technology transfer programs.  The government technology transfer program became a model for public/private cooperation. As a senior manager at IBM, Ron was responsible for the development of strategies for the Service Provider, e-Business, e-Infrastructure and Industrial Sector arenas.  For example, Ron helped increase revenue in the Industrial Sector Segment from a $1.4B business to over $2.2B.

As a consultant he helped establish the Pharmaceutical Industry Practice and made it into a major revenue source. Ron has managed a variety of technology groups, including thin film and high-speed printer technologies.  In addition, he has been responsible for the successful startup of several companies in Boulder, Colorado and Tucson, Arizona.

As a part of the University of Phoenix faculty, he has taught business plan development and strategy, as well as a variety of other courses in the MS in Technology Management Program.

Robert Shatz, Chief Financial Officer
Bob Shatz has been involved in alternative finance research and sales for the past 25 years.  As an analyst in the Equity Department for Nomura Research Institute in Tokyo, he translated corporate and industry research about publicly listed companies on the Tokyo Stock Exchange from Japanese into English for the 10,000 strong English speaking global sales force across the Nomura network including Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, London, and New York.  He then became the first foreign analyst to be trained in Tokyo and sent to sell Japanese debt and equity research to institutional investors in the USA.

Bob broke the 20 year Los Angeles Branch record for an equity transaction in his first six months on the job ($32 million), and his knowledge of Japanese culture and cross-cultural communications helped him salvage the first $250 million mutual fund marketed by Nomura in Japan for Rosenberg Institutional Equity Management. The relationship grew into a $5 billion joint venture at its peak.

He was promoted to top management and played an instrumental role in facilitating the first mortgage backed securities mutual fund between Japanese investors and Trust Company of the West ($750 million).  After leaving Nomura, he retired to Tucson to raise his family and look for interesting investment opportunities in sustainable ventures.

A graduate of the University of Arizona (B.A.: Oriental Studies, Minor: Business Administration) and Thunderbird School of Global Management, Bob is a Charter Member (and former Education Chair) of the Tucson Financial Analysts Society, Inc. (CFA Institute,
www.cfainstitute.org), serves as Treasurer of the  Tucson Meet Yourself Festival (www.tucsonmeetyourself.org), and as Chairman of the Sunbelt World Trade Association (www.sunbeltworldtrade.com).
